Capturing Life Through Liquid Plastic and Paint
Overview
This portfolio piece showcases my ability to create realistic prosthetic eyes using liquid plastic, demonstrating a mastery of casting, painting, and finishing techniques. These eyes were crafted with meticulous attention to detail, utilizing liquid plastic for clarity and durability, and finished with layers of acrylic paint and a UV acrylic sealant to achieve a lifelike appearance. This project highlights my dedication to creating high-quality, realistic special effects components.

the challenges
Creating convincing prosthetic eyes presented several intricate challenges. Achieving a bubble-free, crystal-clear liquid plastic casting required precise mixing and careful pouring techniques. Replicating the complexities of the human iris and pupil demanded a steady hand and a keen eye for color blending during the painting process. Ensuring the longevity and vibrancy of the painted details required the application of a durable and protective UV acrylic sealant. 1 Maintaining symmetry and consistency between the two eyes was also a critical challenge, demanding focused concentration and meticulous attention to detail.

the result
The resulting set of prosthetic eyes exhibits a high degree of realism and craftsmanship. The clarity of the liquid plastic allows for a deep, lifelike appearance, while the detailed acrylic painting captures the nuances of the human eye. The UV acrylic sealant provides a durable and protective finish, ensuring the longevity of the piece. This project demonstrates my ability to create convincing and high-quality prosthetic components, showcasing my skills in casting, painting, and finishing.
